Check these blogs out!

Here are a few fashion blogs which I have reviewed. I know this blog is aimed at helping people realise that they don't have to look like the photos in magazines but I thought these blogs would give you all a bit of a 'pick me up' moment!

This blog focuses on the things that are happening on the Toronto fashion scene. The website layout is very pleasing on the eye. I find that both the headlines and the pictures are intriguing and make you want to read more. The blog is mainly run by Rachel (founder of the blog). The blog posts photos of the fashion scene in Toronto and Rachel gives her opinion. Information is presented logically and the home button is easily accessed at the top of the website and the search bar at the top right hand corner of the blog helps users access anything they want to find at ease.

With Fashion Bits and Bobs it is easy to see that it mainly focuses on designer collections such as Wood Wood and Acne. It is up to date with fashion as it is currently blogging about what is on the catwalk for Fall 2012. The blog engages with the readers by including pronouns such as ‘I’, ‘you’, and ‘us’ and asks the reader questions such as “Do you know Venetia Scott?”. The information is presented logically with the latest post being at the top of the blog. Although I was unable to find a search bar, information is easily accessed as there is a list of categories down the right hand side.

Fashion Toast
This blog loads quickly and on first accessing the site I loved the colours used. They were warm and sophisticated. Everything on the page compliments the next image or piece of writing. It focuses on fashion, including beauty products and clothes, while also giving some accounts of road trips that the blogger has been on. I personally found the blog quite funny on some occasions which always helps engage the reader as it becomes more personal.  Although I do find a lot of the blog is taken up by photos rather than actual text.

This blog is well formatted and focuses on what celebrities wear and where the public can get the same item. Recent posts show Beyonce in a navy sequin dress and informs readers of where to purchase the same dress. What I like about this website is that readers can select a favourite celebrity using the drop down menu on the right hand side of the page and view the items they have worn and find out where to get them. Visited links also change colour. The only downfall of the blog is on first entering the site. There is an advertisement underneath the title that has blinking images which can be distracting for some people. But the blog engages the reader and asks for their opinion on celebrity looks.
Get Whit It

This blog aims to help readers follow celebrity fashions. It gives tips on how to follow trends on a budget, which is always helpful and it also shows us how to re-use our old clothes to make them ‘new’ again. All the important elements are towards the top of the page and the home button is easily accessible. Viewers can also browse Youtube while browsing the site. I did find that once a link was visited it did not change colour. Overall I thought the blog was interesting and the colours complimented one another.

Check out the blogs and let me know what you think!
